2017 is finally upon us, and the weather was unseasonably warm for January (a whopping 55 degrees). I decided to seize the opportunity to go for a hike to help get conditioned for an upcoming trip. What better time to film an early 2017 update video?
I already shared my 4 goals for 2017, but I thought it might also be interesting to set a personal challenge for myself. The challenge I landed upon is this: over the course of the year, hike a total of at least 500 miles. This works out to be an average of around 9.6 miles per week, which is really quite a doable number.
This will encourage me to get out and hike more, and give me excuses to make some more hiking videos.
To allow you to keep tabs on my progress, I have set up a page for this challenge.
Your 2017 Hiking Challenge?
I’d be interested in knowing if anyone else has some sort of hiking challenge for 2017 (or past years). Feel free to share them in the comment below, or hit me up on twitter, @serialphotog. If I come across some people with interesting hiking (or related) challenges for this new year I might add a shout-out section to my tacker page 😉
I just got done publishing my 4 goals for 2017 post and it got me thinking about the images I’ve taken over this past year. With 2016 winding down, I thought it might be appropriate to take a moment and share my 5 favorite images that I took during this past year. In the process I’ll talk a little bit about the background of each image. So, without further ado, here are my 5 favorite images from 2016!
2016 is quickly coming to an end and for 2017 I wanted to revamp the Serial Photog website. There is quite a lot I want to do with this site and the Serial Photog brand in the coming year, but I’ll get to that in a future post. For now, however, I just want to welcome you to the new and improved version of Serial Photog. Stay tuned for some exciting stuff!
